The Beauty of Bridal Separates

Notes from the studio

Style: EVELYN Lace Tie Back Shell Top - Peony Rice

One of my favourite things about designing bridal separates is seeing how differently each woman wears them.

The same skirt can feel romantic on one bride and quietly modern on another. A pair of tailored trousers styled with a lace top feels completely different when paired with a silk camisole or statement veil. What begins as a collection of individual pieces becomes something deeply personal.

At Peony Rice, our Amanda palazzo pants, Daphne Hi-Low hemmed skirt, lace tops and PIPA silk camisole have become some of our most-loved designs, not because they follow a particular trend, but because they allow brides to express their own sense of style.

I've never believed there is one way to dress as a bride.

Some women dream of a traditional gown. Others are drawn to effortless tailoring, modern silhouettes or pieces they can wear beyond the wedding day. More often than not, our brides are looking for something that feels like an extension of who they already are.

This is where separates become so interesting.

Rather than starting with a finished look, you begin with beautiful building blocks.

The Amanda Pants can be styled for a registry wedding, a welcome dinner or a reception. The Daphne Hi-Low Skirt can feel dramatic and romantic with a lace top or clean and understated with a simple camisole. The same pieces can evolve throughout the day, creating different moods for different moments.

For many women, today's wedding celebrations are no longer centred around a single dress. There may be a tea ceremony, a civil ceremony, a reception or a destination celebration. Separates offer the flexibility to create a wardrobe that moves effortlessly through each occasion while still feeling cohesive.

What I love most, however, is the creativity they inspire.

There is a certain joy in mixing textures, proportions and silhouettes until a look feels uniquely yours. When a bride starts layering pieces in unexpected ways and suddenly says, "This feels like me," that is usually when we know we have found the right combination.

Perhaps that is the real beauty of bridal separates for a modern bridal look, keeping it classy or mix it up and you could be the edgier bride who breaks the rules. Remember you certainly can for your special day!

I love that they give women the freedom to create a bridal style that is entirely their own.
